Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) was established in 1942. Presently, it is a private University and the largest one in New Jersey. In 1948, FDU had achieved four year status and in 1956, it had become a university. Around 100 graduate and undergraduate programs are provided by the university. Fairleigh Dickinson University also has doctoral programs in pharmacy, school psychology, clinical psychology, and nursing practice. The motto of FDU is Fortiter et Suaviter, which when translated to English means 'Strongly and Gently'. Its colors are Blue and Red and the mascot is Knight, Ian the Devil.
Fairleigh Dickinson University has a total of four campuses. Its main campuses are in New Jersey. The Florham campus covers the towns of Madison and Florham Park. The Metropolitan campus is close to New York City and spans the Hackensack River in Teaneck and Hackensack. Wroxton College is located in Southeast England. The Vancouver campus is situated in British Columbia.
