About University of The Pacific
University of the Pacific, formerly known as College of the Pacific and California Wesleyan College, was founded in 1851 as a private Methodist institution. On the West Coast, the university was the first medical school and the first conservatory of music. The WASC also recognises the university. The university's campuses are located in the California cities of San Francisco, Stockton, and Sacramento. It has its own college of liberal arts, graduate school, school of health, sciences, pharmacy, law, music, international studies, engineering, education, dental school, and business school. Dave Brubeck, an alumnus of the college, released a live album titled "Jazz at the College of the Pacific." Additionally, the university holds the papers of environmental pioneer John Muir.
As a comprehensive educational institution, the university provides student-centered programmes that produce deserving and exemplary graduates who leave their mark on society. The university constructed a $20 million Biological Sciences Center to provide advanced laboratory and classroom facilities for students studying health sciences and natural sciences. More than 30 professional and graduate programmes, 80 undergraduate courses, 12 accelerated programmes, and 11 schools and colleges are offered by the University of the Pacific. Additionally, the university provides student support services such as financial insurance, student loans, counselling, and health services, among others.
