About University of Connecticut

With the help of land and money donated by Augustus and Charles Storrs, the University of Connecticut (UConn) was founded in 1881 as Storrs Agricultural School. On September 28th, the school began classes with a group of 13 pupils and three faculty members. In 1893, it was renamed Storrs Agricultural College, then Connecticut Agricultural College, then Connecticut State College, and finally Connecticut State College in 1933. In 1939, it was renamed the University of Connecticut. There are 14 schools and colleges at the institution now. The Association of American Universities has also granted it accreditation.

The university's main campus, which is located in Storrs, houses a variety of academic and recreational facilities. In Connecticut, the institution operates four regional campuses. Its Avery Point location teaches maritime and marine studies, while its Stamford campus is in New York City and is known for business degrees, and its Hartford campus is in downtown Hartford and is known for humanities degrees. In addition, the institution owns a Waterbury campus.

Its School of Law, which is located near the State Capitol, has its own campus. The UConn John Dempsey Hospital, an up-to-date outpatient hospital, University Dentists, a research organisation, and the UConn School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine are all located on the UConn Health campus in Farmington. The university receives $258 million in research funding and spends $213 million on scholarships and awards.

The institution provides eight undergraduate degrees, seventeen graduate degrees, six professional degree programmes, and over 117 undergraduate majors in subjects such as agriculture, science, the environment, and architecture. The institution employs about 5,032 people and has over 32,000 students, with 24 percent of them coming from other countries. University of Connecticut Admission Requirements

The university includes students from more than 90 different nations. International students make up 14% of the university's incoming students. The following are the requirements for undergraduate admission at UConn:
