Oregon State University is a public research university in Corvallis, Oregon, United States. It is renowned as the largest university in Oregon. Oregon State University has been designated as a "Community Engagement" university by the Carnegie Foundation. The institution has also been designated as a doctorate university with the highest level of research activities. This university is also one of just three institutions in the United States to hold the titles of sea-grant, space-grant, and sun-grant. In 1865, the institution began offering a college-level curriculum. In 1868, this university was founded as Corvallis College. Later on, the institution was granted authority to offer Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Arts degrees.
In 1870, the first graduating class received a Bachelor of Arts degree. It began delivering agricultural courses in 1873. This university began conferring Doctor of Philosophy degrees in 1935. In 1961, this university changed its name to Oregon State University. There are nearly 200 undergraduate degree programmes at this university, as well as a wide range of graduate and doctoral degrees. This university is notable for being the state's largest university.
Two campuses, 11 colleges, 12 experiment sites, extension activities in all 36 counties, and academic programmes make up the institution. The 400-acre main campus is home to the university's main campus. Ecampus at Oregon State University offers more than 70 degrees and programmes, as well as over 1,300 online and hybrid classes.
