Oklahoma City University (OCU) is a private, co-educational university in Oklahoma City. As Epworth University, it was founded in the early 1900s by a local developer. The university, which is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, accepts students from all over the world and provides a variety of degree programmes in liberal arts, fine arts, science, and business. In addition, it is the city's sole institution to have been ranked in the top tier of the regional, masters-level university category by U.S. News and World Report.
Oklahoma City Academic's campus, which spans 104 acres, delivers an enriching university experience to all of its students. A portion of the university's campus was even designated as a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places. On the OCU campus, play performances, films, concerts, operas, sporting events, and seminars sponsored by well-known speakers and business executives from around the world provide cultural amusement and enrichment. In addition, there are over 60 student organisations at the university, with a variety of interests ranging from ethnic to political and religious to specialised types of interest. The Greek system, coed dormitories, and apartments are all available housing alternatives on campus.
OCU has schools and colleges, as well as a Methodist seminary, that provide undergraduate bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programmes. It offers more than 70 undergraduate majors, 20 graduate degrees, including nursing Ph.D. programmes, a law degree, and the MBA, as well as the Adult Studies Program for working adults seeking a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. It also provides a number of pre-professional degree programmes. In addition, the Kramer School of Nursing provides a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Ph.D. in Nursing. More than 1,700 undergraduate students and 600 graduate students from 46 states and 43 countries attend the university. At OCU, the student-to-faculty ratio is 11:1.
Even the institution offers possibilities for additional education with service-learning components throughout the curriculum, such as a partnership with The Oklahoma Scholar-Leadership Enrichment Program (OSLEP), an interdisciplinary programme, and a number of study abroad programmes.
