Madonna University

About Madonna University

Madonna University, located on the western outskirts of Detroit, Michigan, is a Roman Catholic institution influenced by the teachings of Saint Francis of Assisi. It is a coeducational Catholic and Franciscan university that offers over one hundred programmes, including over thirty at the postgraduate level.

Although its origins can be traced back to Warsaw, Poland, where the Felician Sisters founded their religious order in 1855, it was in Michigan that the organisation began to formally administer educational institutions. It was founded in 1937 by Mother Mary DeSales Tocka and received university status in 1991. In 1982, Madonna introduced master's degrees, and in 2009, it conferred its first doctorate in nursing practise.

Madonna has a low student-to-faculty ratio. Madonna also has a presence in the small town of Macomb, forty miles to the northeast, and in Gaylord, Michigan, in northern Michigan. Additionally, the university offers a course in business and leadership in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Business, management, marketing, firefighting, law enforcement, and public administration are among the most popular courses taught by Madonna. In addition to chemistry, music management, child development, paralegal studies, piano performance, film music scoring, hospice and palliative studies, humane studies, nutritional sciences, and broadcast & cinema arts, Madonna offers a variety of programmes.

Detroit has a low cost of living, a thriving arts scene, several nationally acclaimed museums and galleries, and an abundance of shopping. It is sometimes referred to as a "comeback city." Many attribute the revitalization of the Motor City to the growth of small businesses, with billions of dollars invested in the city in recent years.
