Loyola Marymount University is a Jesuit, private, Marymount research university. It is the mother institution of Loyola Law School. Established in 1865, the university's six colleges offer 55 minor courses and 60 major courses for undergraduates. The graduate division offers 12 credential and 51 master's degree programmes, in addition to 1 Juris doctoral, 1 education doctoral, and 1 doctor of juridical science degree programmes.
The university is one of the largest Roman Catholic universities on the West Coast of the United States as of 2019. The university offers an Air Force ROTC programme, an Honors degree with a unique core curriculum, and numerous year-long, semester-long, and summer study abroad programmes in Australia, the United States, Asia, Europe, and Africa.
