Florida International University is a well-known public research university that prides itself on providing high-quality education to its students. It first opened its doors in 1965. The State Board of Education, in partnership with the Board of Regents, planned the founding of this university once Senate Bill 711 was approved. This institution has the record for the greatest opening enrolment in the history of the United States, with a total of 5,667 students. The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine was founded in 2009, while the FIU College of Law was established in 2002. Currently, Mark B. Rosenberg serves as the president of this institution.With approximately 400 student-athletes competing in over 18 sports, it is a member of Conference USA. It has also conferred over 330,000 degrees on prominent leaders in South Florida and elsewhere. According to the QS World Ranking 2020, this university is among the top 801-1000 universities worldwide.

The institution is based in Miami, Florida, with two main campuses and multiple satellite campuses in South Florida, China, and Italy. The Modesto Maidique Campus, formerly known as the University Park Campus, provides students with a convenient location and numerous research centres. It also offers students convenient on-campus housing with amenities such as dining halls, parking, a bookshop, and a recreation centre. The Biscayne Campus is located in North Miami and offers students housing alternatives.A library, wellness centre, conference centre, and retail stores are among the other amenities available on this site. The Engineering Center, which contains several digitally advanced labs and research facilities, is just a short shuttle ride away from the Modesto Campus. Florida International University International Student Admissions

Each year, Florida International University enrols about 3,000 international students. International applicants go through the same admissions process as domestic applicants. International applicants, on the other hand, must meet additional standards. They must also thoroughly examine their visa application process.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Presidential Premier scholarship —Eligible students have a 4.0 GPA and a 1370 SAT/ACT score of 30. It pays for all tuition and costs, as well as a book allowance.
