The University of Derby is a public university founded in 1851 in the town of Dieby. It used to be called the Derby College of Art and Technology or simply the Derby College. It originally was established as the Derby Diocesan Institution, a teacher training institution. In 1992 h it has gaine university status .
The university is known worldwide for its excellent teaching and has therefore been awarded the prestigious gold rating in the Framework for Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes and a top 30 UK Universities in the Guardian University Guide 2020

Derby
The main campus of the University is in Derby City. The largest and most important campus on Kedleston Road in Allestree, north west of Derby, serves as the headquarters of the University. It is just next to the A38 and opposite the park of Markeaton. Derby Campus houses most university courses.
Derby Campus offers a variety of facilities such as computer laboratories, two development suites for computer games, general practice surgery, conference facilities, multi-functional lecture theatres, venues for art and culture, concert venues, studios for recording, sports and fitness centres, outdoor swimming pools, student union bars and center for multi-faith.
Buxton Campus
The Buxton Campus is located in the heart of the city, in the historical Devonshire Dome. The Buxton Campus is the home of professional and management specialist courses.
Buxton Campus facilities include an internationally recognized and award-winning business day spa run by students graduating in Spa and Wellness Management, a fine dining restaurant run by students graduating in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, hair and beauty salon, dome floor space events, outdoor leadership center, and engineering facilities for motor vehicles.
Chesterfield
Campus is situated near Chesterfield town centre.
The Chesterfield site is a Health and Social Care Centre of Excellence.
It provides some of the best nursing education facilities in the UK. These include: a state-of - the-art Clinical Skills Suite, a six-bed mock ward NHS standard, an Immersive Interactive Simulation Suite that provides 360 ° projections of a range of work environments.
