Robert Gordon University is a public university in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland. It was first started as hospital in the mid-18th century, then a technical college in 1910, and then a modern university in 1992.
It is a creative, accessible, successful and skilled university with a student population of more than 16,000 from more than 174 countries.
Robert Gordon University consists of 11 academic colleges, covering a wide variety of disciplines, including finance, engineering, architecture and the environment, computing, law, nursing, health, and art and design. Both schools offer versatile learning modes; on campus or online; full-time or part-time, with all their degrees established through close collaboration with industry.
The University has been recognized as a Gold Standard institution in the Teaching Excellence Framework and is ranked among the top 20% of the UK's best universities for the quality of their teaching , learning, support and graduate employability.
GU ranks first in Scotland and fourth in the UK for employability, with 97.6 per cent of graduates receiving employment within six months (HESA published 2018). It is also ranked 27th in the world in the QS World University Rankings for Graduate Employabality Rate 2018.
RGU single campus in Aberdeen is located in Garthdee, southwest of the city. All academic departments are situated here, and teaching and research takes place here.

Robert Gordon University Financial Aid
- RGU awards more than 3,000 GBP yearly as a discount towards postgraduate research tuition fees to international students.
- The university also awards more than 2,000 GBP yearly discounts towards Master's course tuition fees to international students.
- Financial aid to international students include grants, scholarships, student jobs, and graduate fellowships,
- Chevening Scholarship: Chevening Scholarship is funded by the UK Government to award international students in order to develop global leaders. The amount covers full Scholarship which includes flights, accommodation, and course fees. Eligible students are typically one year Master’s degree students.
- Vice-Chancellor's Undergraduate Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to international undergraduate students admitted to study any undergraduate degree at RGU. With the varying amount, the application is done online and applicants are expected to submit a scholarship application form, including a 500 words statement of support.
- RGU International Student Discount for Undergraduate Students: This is an entrance financial aid awarded to international self-funded students, studying full time on-campus undergraduate courses entering into year one or year two. The amount is 3,000 GBP discount awarded towards one year of undergraduate tuition fees
