Queen Mary University (QMUL) is a public research institution located in London, England. Established as London Medical College in 1785, and officially granted university status in 1887.
It's one of the most diverse higher education institutions in the world, with staff and students from over 160 nationalities across its network.
Nearly 90 percent of home students come from state schools, with more than 50 percent of home students becoming the first to go to university within their families. More than 65 per cent of students are BAME (Black, Asian and ethnic minority).
Over 270 undergraduate and 300 postgraduate programs are offered across three faculties: Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, and Medicine and Dentistry.
Queen Mary has the largest academic health science center in the world, and is well recognized at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry for its scientific teaching and research. Queen Mary's Medical School comprises special cardiology units, infectious diseases, surgery, and dentistry.
