While studying Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology (FWCB), you’ll learn about the care and management of wildlife, fish, or aquatic resources. This curriculum will give you a broad science background emphasizing biological and environmental sciences and other coursework needed for careers in fisheries, wildlife, conservation biology, and other natural resource and environmental fields. You’ll be prepared to research, plan, and implement the management, protection, and enhancement of fisheries and aquatic resources, wildlife resources, and biological diversity.
As a student in the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences you’ll have exceptional research opportunities and interactive learning experiences. This major offers you classes that include field trips and multiple ways to learn while doing. You will select an area of specialization, usually by the end of sophomore year.

- Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences
- Wildlife
- You are also able to add a pre-veterinary medicine emphasis with additional biology and chemistry courses.
This program will provide you with the fundamental science background needed to enter the workforce, as well as a wide variety of graduate programs in biological and natural resource sciences as well as professional programs in veterinary medicine, environmental law, and environmental education.
