Global Health in University of California San Diego
Global health is at once an increasingly popular new field of study, an urgent social concern, and a powerful interdisciplinary intellectual synthesis aimed at understanding and productively intervening in processes of health, illness, and healing across the globe. This program is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of factors related to illness, health, and healing from a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective that transcends national borders and regional interests, and takes cultural difference and cross-cultural diversity fully into account.

- Major Information
- The Global Health Program offers a Bachelor of Arts in Global Health (B.A.) and effective Fall 2019, a Bachelor of Science in Global Health (B.S.). Both degrees require students to complete a Global Health Field Experience component.
- The B.A. in Global Health consists of a total of 17 courses. The B.A. is interdisciplinary and has a heavier emphasis on the medical social sciences and humanities.
- The B.S. in Global Health consists of a total of 24 courses. The B.S. is interdisciplinary and has a heavier emphasis on the medical social sciences and natural sciences. The additional coursework prepares students for entry into medical and pre-health programs.
- All courses applied to the major must receive a letter grade of C- or better.
