Information Systems, B.s in San Diego State University
We educate students with a competency based curriculum that evolves with the changing needs of the business environment to produce graduates with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the organizations they serve. We maintain ongoing engagement with the local business community, most notably through our MIS advisory board, to develop programs and courses that reflect their needs. We measure our success in terms of student internship placements, graduation rates, job placements, and salaries.
We focus our research on real-world issues affecting many individuals and organizations. We seek external grant funding and conduct basic and applied research to move toward creative solutions for the problems of our day. We disseminate our findings to assist business, non-profit, and government organizations in fulfilling their missions. We measure our success in terms of the real-world impact of our solutions, external grant funding, and well-cited publications in high-quality peer reviewed journals.
We support the mission of the Fowler College of Business and San Diego State University by aligning our initiatives with their greater missions. We collaborate with other departments and colleges to advance interdisciplinary research and education to create knowledge and offer programs that we could do by ourselves.
