Aviation Technology And Management in Purdue University
The School of Aviation and Transportation Technology offers aviation-focused doctoral programs through the Ph.D. Technology and through the Ph.D. Aviation and Technology Management. Both programs are on-campus doctoral programs that require at least 90 credit hours of approved graduate coursework and research. An important component of a doctoral program is the faculty member serves as the student’s faculty advisor. The faculty advisor chairs the student’s committee, develops a plan of study with the student, and mentors the student in research. Typically founded on mutual research interests, the student and committee chair should communicate frequently throughout the doctoral program. Applicants may want to contact faculty members to discuss potential research interests prior to applying and even during the application process. Applicants may request faculty members for advisors, and these requests are one of many considerations for the selection of the faculty advisor for a student.
