The Traditional BSN is for direct-entry freshmen with no previous nursing education who are interested in earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and becoming eligible for a California Registered Nurse (RN) license. The degree is completed full-time throughout the course of either a four year pathway or a five year pathway.
Traditional BSN Curriculum
The Traditional BSN consists of general education, prerequisite courses, and nursing major coursework that must be completed full-time throughout the course of either four or five years.
Once admitted into the nursing major, students will complete prerequisite and general education coursework during the first year (four year plan) or first two years (five year plan). Nursing students will have reserved seating in the four required science prerequisite courses.
Nursing courses are held in-person on the CSUF campus in Fullerton.
PLEASE NOTE: Students must maintain the following standards to continue through to their nursing courses:
- Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of a 3.0 or higher.
- Maintain a prerequisite Grade Point Average of a 3.0 or higher.
- Earn a B- or higher in the science prerequisite coursework.
- Earn a C or higher in the non-science prerequisite coursework.
