OVERVIEW
The MSc in Human Resource Management has been designed in response to developments within the HRM sector and can lead to professional accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
The MSc in Human Resource Management offers both full time and part time opportunities to study towards a master’s degree and at the same time, prepare you for Associate Membership of the CIPD.
This master's not only prepares you for a successful career in HRM and enables you to take on general or specialist roles within the HRM functions of organisations globally. This understanding will achieve greater utilisation of the human resource and facilitate greater business success and increased employee satisfaction. It will allow you to develop and assess employment policies and support organisational development.
PROFESSIONAL APPROVAL AND ACCREDITATION
The MSc in Human Resource Management offers both full time and part time opportunities to study towards a master’s degree and at the same time, prepare you for Associate Membership of the CIPD.
Three named/exit master's degrees are possible:
- MSc HRM (accredited by the CIPD)
Two associated pathways (not currently accredited by the CIPD*) are also offered:
- MSc in International HRM
- MSc in Leadership in HRM
Both pathways offer full time and part time opportunities to study towards a master’s degree and develop your HR and Leadership knowledge.
* when new CIPD standards are available, accreditation for these pathways will also be applied for.
Careers
The full-time programme will be beneficial for those wishing to enter a career within the area of HRM or looking to complete the programme in a shorter space of time. The part-time programme will be beneficial for both general managers and those working within HRM.
Graduates from this course have HRM and management roles within the NHS, Scottish Prison Service, Transport Police and SMEs.
