About Occupational And Organizational Psychology Msc in University of Sussex
If you’re interested in how people think and behave at work – and in helping them optimise their wellbeing and performance – this is the course for you. You’ll learn to play a key role in developing knowledge, and to influence best practice and policy in the workplace, both today and in the rapidly changing workplace of the future.
Taught by the School of Psychology and the University of Sussex Business School, you’ll gain valuable skills and knowledge in:
- psychological assessment at work
- learning, training and development
- leadership, engagement and motivation
- wellbeing and work
- organisational design, change and development.
The course will also cover issues relevant to the future of work, bringing you the latest thinking on a range of topics such as digital connectivity, relational attachment at work, class and masculinity, attitudes to diversity, consumer psychology and modern leadership.
Careers
On graduation, you’ll be well prepared for professional practice as an occupational or organisational/business psychologist in fields such as:
- in-house in the private sector and the public sector (MI6, military, NHS, emergency services, Government and the Civil Service)
- test-publishing houses
- research consultancies and institutes
- policy think-tanks
- management consultancy
- HR consultancy, and within HR/people/wellbeing departments in organisations
- self-employment.
On the course, you’re invited to meet psychologists from different industries and to attend real-world assessment days. You’ll also cover important areas relevant to the future of work including the impact of technology, attitudes to diversity and the fourth industrial revolution.
Academic qualification equivalents
- Bachelors degree with an overall mark of at least 54-69% depending on your university.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS : 6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component
- TOEFL : 88 overall, including at least 20 in Listening, 19 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
- PTE : 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills.
