About Neuroscience Msc in University of Sussex
Neuroscience brings together scientists with a wide range of skills and backgrounds to examine fundamental aspects of our brains and behaviour. One important aim is to develop new drugs and therapies to treat some of the most feared and debilitating diseases.
Choosing from our wide range of modules, you can focus on areas of particular interest to you. The practical research project provides up to six months’ experience in one of our interdisciplinary laboratories, giving you valuable experience for a career in neuroscience.
With over 50 research groups on campus, Sussex Neuroscience is one of the largest and most interconnected neuroscience communities in the UK. Our expertise includes:
- sensory processing
- computational neuroscience
- psychobiology
- neurodegeneration.
You’ll be taught and supervised by research faculty across the Schools of Life Sciences, Psychology, Engineering and Informatics, and Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
Careers
Graduating from this course will put you in a strong position to move into doctoral study, as well as industrial research and related fields such as human-computer interaction and healthcare.
Academic qualification equivalents
- Bachelors degree with an overall mark of at least 54-69% depending on your university.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS : 6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in each component
- TOEFL : 88 overall, including at least 20 in Listening, 19 in Reading, 21 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
- PTE : 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills.
