About Environmental Management in University of Salford
This course is about understanding science and its interrelationship with the environment. You will learn how organisations perceive the environment and the considerations they need to invest in to improve their performance. If you are interested in sustainable development and planning, want a career in a new, developing and challenging area, if you want to improve the environmental performance of organisations or help to mitigate global climate change, then this course is for you.
Fieldwork is a key element of the programme and field trips are aligned with our specialist modules, allowing you to gain skills and practical experience. You may go on day trips to the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales, as well as residential field courses in Denmark or the European Alps. Most trips are free, with students only needing to pay a modest administration fee.
Small group teaching is a beneficial feature of this course and there are strong links between course content and staff research interests. You will get all the support you need from friendly and accessible academic staff and weekly tutorials with your personal tutor help you will quickly get to know other students.
You will:
- Learn how to apply techniques for assessing and managing the environmental effects of public and private sector organisations
- Develop personal, professional and research skills and enhance employability through participation in consultancy-based project work
- Gain practical experience through field trips and placement opportunities
