About Design Innovation in University of Salford
This course prioritises creativity and design thinking as an essential part of responding to a wide range of practice-based challenges. It is aimed both at those from creative and non-creative backgrounds, and those who wish to work alongside creatives in a challenge-based environment, and become key influencers.
The opportunities presented by fast-moving technologies, emerging engineering/production techniques, and the demands of a complex global society require designers/experts that are able to work with credibility and imagination, and on equal terms, alongside social, business, commercial and industrial professionals. This course will extend your intellectual appreciation of the role of the designer, challenge you to explore changing ethical and professional considerations, extend your capability to conceive, make, and deliver original design-led responses, and build a method of working across boundaries of traditional disciplines in a culture of shared and collaborative working.
Working as a collaborative group will mirror the models that forward-thinking organisations and employers will seek to establish in the coming period of rapid social change.
You will:
- Experience an intensive programme of real world challenges
- Develop a method of generating rich, original, and credible solutions
- Work collaboratively across different sectors
