The course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (Institution of Structural Engineers, Institution of Civil Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation, Institute of Highway Engineers) as fully satisfying the requirements for a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
You will:
- Gain the ability to fulfil a range of civil engineering surveying tasks
- Acquire the skills to design simple structural steel, analyse statically indeterminate structures and design complex structures
- Identify and manage environmental issues and associated risks relating to civil engineering, including water, transport, landscape, heritage and biodiversity
- Build knowledge about materials and their fundamental behaviour, including geology, soil mechanics and laboratory testing
- Develop professional knowledge, design and analytical skills towards Chartered Engineer status, learning about the associated social, legal and environmental issues
