About Finance in University of Reading
The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) Centre is Europe’s first active collaboration between the capital markets industry and a university finance department. We are a part of the triple-accredited Henley Business School which has an 80,000-strong alumni network that spans over 160 countries.
Our practice-centred approach includes various finance education innovations, aiming to provide students with a solid grounding for a career in the industry. We have over 100 state-of-the-art trading simulation terminals in three dealing rooms, supported by Refinitiv and Bloomberg. This also enables academic staff to combine theory and practice across a whole range of activities, whether in derivatives trading, portfolio management, risk management, financial engineering or corporate finance.
The ICMA Centre is a pioneer in finance education and renowned for its strong links with the financial services industry. This is also reflected in the fact that several leading professional bodies including the CFA, CISI, GARP and ICS validate our Masters programmes and offer exam exemptions to our students. Our diverse and reputable faculty members bring both industry and academic expertise from across the globe.
