About Further Education And Training Certed in University of Portsmouth
This Certificate in Further Education and Training (CertEd) course gives you a formal teaching qualification and prepares you for work in further education and training.
As well as learning the most effective techniques for teaching in further training and education, you'll also develop subject specific knowledge by working closely with course teachers and work-based subject mentors.
After the course, you'll be able to take up teaching roles in further education colleges, sixth-form colleges, private training providers or top up your Certificate to a BA (Hons) Education and Training degree. You'll also be eligible for membership of the Society for Education & Training (SET).
Location
You can study this course full-time at the University or part-time at our partner colleges – Chichester College (Chichester and Crawley campus), Eastleigh College, Isle of Wight College, St Vincent College or Havant and South Downs College. While studying at our partner colleges, you can access our student support services and community including study support, the Students' Union and our library's online resources.

Academic qualification equivalents
- If you have an average of 75% or above in the 12 Standard (State Board) examinations or 70% in the Central Board, we'll consider you for admission onto an undergraduate course such as a Bachelor's degree. You must have studied relevant subjects and achieved strong grades.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS: A minimum of IELTS band 6.0, with no component below 5.5.
- TOEFL iBT: For most of our Bachelor's degrees, you need a score of 79 with a minimum of:18 in Reading 17 in Listening 20 in Speaking 17 in Writing Some courses, especially those with a high level of discussion and writing, require higher scores. - PTE: 54 points, with a minimum of 51 in each component.
