This MEng (Hons) degree programme has more depth and breadth than the BEng (Hons) programme in Mechatronics and Robotic Systems, studying core subjects, such as advanced system modelling and control, in more detail and a greater range of subjects.
In addition to the individual final year project, you will also undertake a major group project in the third year.
Year abroad
This degree programme now has a Year Abroad option (Mechatronics and Robotic Systems with a Year Abroad MEng, UCAS code: HH77). The Year Abroad is an incredible new opportunity to spend one academic year at one our partner universities expanding your academic and cultural horizons. You’ll spend this time abroad in between your second and third years of study and your degree will extend by one year.
During the Year Abroad you’ll take a variety of modules. Some modules will be related to the culture, history and society of the country you’re living and others will be discipline-related modules. This mixture means you have a fantastic opportunity to learn in-depth about your host country as well as learn new and exciting knowledge that will complement your degree studies back in Liverpool. Research from Universities UK tells us that students who spend time studying abroad during their degree programme are more likely to be in further education or employment 6 months after graduating, earn higher than average salaries and are more likely to graduate with a 2:1 or First Class degree.
Career prospects
Our degrees have excellent career prospects: 90% of graduates go on to graduate level jobs. Graduate employers include Siemens, BAE Systems, BT and Guardian Media Group. Careers are many and varied and include Design Engineer, Systems Engineer, Medical Physicist, Postdoctoral Research Scientist and Radio Frequency Scientist.
