Civil And Structural Engineering Meng (hons) in University of Liverpool
The first two years of this programme are the same as the MEng (H202) and BEng (H200) Civil Engineering degree programmes and provide a broad-based academic training for a professional engineer.
In the last two years of the programme, option choices allow students to concentrate on a range of analysis and design methods using the principal structural materials of reinforced concrete, steel, timber and masonry. Through the use of advanced analysis and design methods, and state-of-the-art commercial design software, you will cover the theoretical background and the design implications of structural engineering and build a foundation for future leadership in the industry.
The MEng programme (H220) is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators, which represents the four major civil engineering institutions and accredits civil engineering programmes on behalf of the Engineering Council, which sets and maintains the standards for the engineering profession in the UK. This degree is accredited as fully satisfying the educational base for a Chartered Engineer (CEng). See jbm.org.uk for further information.
Students taking the BEng Civil Engineering programme, who have reached the required academic standard in their studies, are eligible to transfer to either of the MEng programmes at the end of their Year Two.
