About Msc Orthopaedic And Rehabilitation Technology in University of Dundee
Technology has always been central to the treatment of patients in orthopaedics and rehabilitation, and the use of technology has never been greater than it is at present. Today you can choose from a large and ever increasing variety of devices.
The Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at the University of Dundee is one of the principal training institutions of orthopaedics, biomechanics and rehabilitation technology in the UK.
This programme has been designed and written by experts from centres in Dundee and includes up-to-date material reflecting current knowledge and understanding. The Diploma course comprises four groups of modules and the MSc course comprises the same four module groups and a project. The courses are delivered by distance learning techniques, to suit the needs of today’s working professional.
The academic department is closely linked with the Orthopaedic Directorate of the NHS Tayside, which provides orthopaedic, wheelchair and seating, orthotic and prosthetic specialist services to the City of Dundee and its surrounding areas. Tayside Rehabilitation Engineering Services (TRES) is also part of the Directorate. TRES provide a clinical service in addition to an active programme of research and development, evaluation and teaching
Careers
The majority of our students are already in full-time employment in a related professional healthcare position. Studying this course by distance learning allows them to gain recognised professional qualifications without having to take a career break.
Academic qualification equivalents

Bachelor’s degree with 55% or above considered from University of Delhi, University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, IITs and IIMs (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)
Bachelor’s degree with 60% or above required from other institutions (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)
A Bachelor’s degree with 50% or above may be considered comparable to a UK 2.2 degree.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS: The requirement for most undergraduate and postgraduate degrees is IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 in writing and 6.0/5.5 minimum in the other three components.
- TOEFL (iBT): 88 overall, including at least 21 in Listening, 20 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
- PTE: 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills
