Our facilities

The Queen Mother Building has an unusual mixture of lab space and breakout areas, with a range of conventional and special equipment for you to use. It's also easy to work on your own laptop as there is wireless access throughout the building. Our close ties to industry allows us access to facilities such as Windows Azure and Teradata, and university and industry standard software such as Tableau for you to evaluate and use.

The University maintains a friendly, intimate and supportive atmosphere, and we take pride in the fact that we know all of our students. We have a thriving postgraduate department with regular seminars and guest speakers.

The MSc in Applied Computing is for students that have graduated from subjects other than computing, but have a keen interest in developing their computing knowledge and skills.

Academic qualification equivalents

  • Bachelor’s degree with 55% or above considered from University of Delhi, University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, IITs and IIMs (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)

    Bachelor’s degree with 60% or above required from other institutions (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)

    A Bachelor’s degree with 50% or above may be considered comparable to a UK 2.2 degree.

English language requirements (one of the below):

  • IELTS: The requirement for most undergraduate and postgraduate degrees is IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 in writing and 6.0/5.5 minimum in the other three components.
  • TOEFL (iBT): 88 overall, including at least 21 in Listening, 20 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
  • PTE: 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills
