This course will give you insights into sport coaching, sport development and aspects of sport science.
You’ll be taught by a vastly experienced team including accredited physiologists, strength and conditioning coaches, sport development specialists and psychologists. We also offer tuition by exercise, health and business experts to help you develop as an all-round sports professional.
In addition, a personal academic tutor will be assigned to you to provide continuous support and help shape your development and career planning.
Work placement and internship opportunities are a key part of this course. They provide a chance for you to put the knowledge and skills you’ve developed into practice while enhancing your career prospects and boosting your confidence.
Our students have enjoyed placements with Derby County FC, Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Leicester Tigers RFU and Derby County Community Trust. Some students go on to secure employment as a result of their placements. We also have a fantastic working relationship with Mickleover Sports Club, the second biggest football club in Derby.
You’ll have the chance to get involved in coaching sessions, applied case studies and community sport development work. You could also gain additional professional qualifications highly valued by employers. These include National Governing Body coaching awards which will demonstrate your leadership potential.
