About International Event Management Msc (pgcert Pgdip) in University of Brighton
A career in events is dynamic and exciting. From business and sports events to fashion shows, festivals and celebrations; events inspire, entertain and inform people across the globe.
The events industry has a huge impact on the economy. In 2019, business and leisure events in the UK contributed more than £70bn of direct spend, and provided jobs for 700,000 people – and is now considered a key industry to economic growth post COVID-19 (UK Events Report 2020).
Designed with a research-strong academic team and event industry practitioners, recent developments in the event sector are at the heart of this course - giving you the knowledge and skills and for a successful career in this key industry.
You will learn both about the historical and socio-cultural development of events as well as how events are planned, produced and tailored to local, national and international audiences. You will also focus on the strategic issues of event management such as ethics, event sustainability and how to respond to environmental forces impacting on the events sector.
Full-time students also have the option to add work experience to their Masters through a year’s paid placement in industry.
We are founder members of the Association for Events Management Education (AEME).
Entry requirements
- Applicants should hold an honours degree in related subject.
English language requirements
- IELTS: 6.5 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
- TOEFL iBT: 85 overall, 18 in writing, 10 in reading, 10 in listening and 17 in speaking.
- PTE Academic: 61 (with no less than 51 in each component).

University of Brighton Cost of Attendance
- International students who have received a letter of acceptance will need to pay a tuition fee deposit of 1,500 GBP before the university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number, which is required to make a visa application.
- The tuition fee deposit can be paid by the students online or through bank transfer service partnered with western union, so international students can pay their deposit in their local currency.
