Overview
The MSc European and International Business Management is unique in the UK. You’ll live and study in three different European countries, giving you a truly international perspective on management.
It is delivered in partnership with two other centres of excellence:
- Deusto Business School at the Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao, Spain
- Audencia Business School, Nantes, France
The programme is taught in three languages: Spanish, French and English. You will spend the first term in Spain or France, the second in France or Spain, and the third at the School of Management in Bradford. You spend the final 12 weeks of the course on work placement or writing a report.
The MSc European and International Business Management includes some language tuition, but you must be competent in at least two of the three languages, and have the ability to become proficient in the third.
Studying the programme significantly widens your career opportunities and earning potential. You’ll, have operational experience in three major business cultures, with the transferable skills to adapt to others, and demonstrate your ability to thrive in a multilingual business environment. Learning and assessment
You have a choice of routes:
- Stage 1 - Bilbao > Stage 2 - Nantes > Stage 3 - Bradford
OR
- Stage 1 - Nantes > Stage 2 - Bilbao > Stage 3 - Bradford
Taught modules focus on the foundations of business and management, and European management, with a range of electives
You also undertake a work placement, most often in a country whose language is not your first, and then write a report on the work placement, supervised by academics in Nantes or Bilbao.
Considerable emphasis is placed on teaching and learning in small groups, and on encouraging students to work together on projects such as group oral presentations and written reports.
Career prospects
Our graduates are in high demand amongst multinational organisations and international consultancy firms. There are also opportunities to establish or accelerate a career as a country or product manager, or develop an international perspective for your own business.
The sectors and jobs that our MSc students achieve upon graduation vary depending on their previous experience and pathway taken. In terms of looking at career progression it is useful to consider where alumni are three years after graduation. Looking at the data derived from the School’s continued ranking in the Financial Times Master’s in Management Rankings, alumni continue to operate in a variety of sectors and three years after graduation on average 25% of them are in senior manager roles and 20% in junior management positions.
