About Social Work BA (hons) in Teesside University
Our BA (Hons) Social Work has been endorsed and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council and provides you with the skills and knowledge to meet the challenges and developments in today’s contemporary social work practice. An honours degree in social work can lead to a long career as a professional social worker with adults or children.
We have an excellent record in our graduates getting professional employment and our graduates are highly regarded by local employers. All students participate in the same core curriculum so that you are equipped to undertake any job role suitable for a newly qualified social worker.
Throughout the course, as part of the placement experience, you may be required to participate in a shift pattern rota or work weekends.
For entry onto Year 1:
India Standard XII – 65% minimum from all state boards.
Diploma from the State Board of Technical Education with 60% minimum (including MEng)
Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 28 points or more will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor degree courses
Advanced entry to undergraduate:
You may be eligible to enter Year 2 of a degree programme if you have a three or four-year diploma
Decided on a case-by-case basis – your course must closely match our own curricula
