At Solent, you will develop the communications skills essential for a career in modern business, plus essential practical skills and experience to stand out from the crowd at interview – working on PR campaigns for real-world clients and learning key communication skills on this dynamic modern degree.
You will explore the modern PR and comms industry, build an in-depth knowledge and critical understanding of public relations practice, get to grips with the digital platforms and multimedia channels that define modern PR, and apply your skills and knowledge through live client briefs from the very start of your degree.
As well as learning all about the latest ideas, techniques and processes in the business, you will have the chance to work with multimedia hardware and software - learning how to produce audio packages or viral videos, and how to use the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
Putting your learning into practice is an essential part of this professionally-focused degree, with a minimum of four weeks experience built into the course at the end of the second year (level 5). And on completing the course, you may be eligible for professional registration as an associate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing or the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing – as well as having the option of accreditation in the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ).
