About Photography BA in Robert Gordon University
This one-year course will enhance your photographic ability across creative, professional, fine art and design contexts through research, experimentation, innovation and enterprise.
The curriculum places emphasis on the development of skills and critical and contextual knowledge, and is delivered through a series of activities and elective projects including: Editorial, Documentary, Photojournalism, Moving Image, Film, Advertising, Fashion, Corporate, Portraiture, Landscape, Exhibition and Curatorial. You will explore the work of key practitioners and further enhance your understanding of photography within historical, cultural and economic contexts. You will have the opportunity to participate in new business start-up activities with our Enterprise Partners Network, which will encourage you to adopt an entrepreneurial outlook.
On successful completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to articulate onto the BA (Hons) Communication Design and/or BA (Hons) Contemporary Art Practice courses within a specialist photography pathway.
Academic qualification equivalents
- The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to our Bachelor degree programmes.
An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A Level).
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS: 6.0 with minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test
- TOEFL iBT : 80 with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17,Reading - 18,Speaking - 20
Writing - 17
- PTE:56 overall with minimum of 51 in each component
