About Cyber Security Bsc (hons) in Robert Gordon University

This cyber security degree provides you with the knowledge and skills to secure and protect critical information systems to the high professional standards demanded by industry. The course, with its strong emphasis on practical security applications, is designed to equip you for a career at the forefront of developments in cyber security.

You will learn how software and hardware systems are vulnerable to attack, and gain practical skills in how to defeat malicious threats. You will be equipped with the knowledge and experience required to gain industry-approved external professional certifications in networking and security to augment your Honours degree. This will form the basis of your career as a professional Cyber Security Specialist who can work effectively to protect critical systems from internal and external threats. 

​​​Academic qualification equivalents

• The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to our Bachelor degree programmes.

An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A Level).

English language requirements (one of the below):

•  IELTS: 6.0 with minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test
• TOEFL iBT : 80  with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17,Reading - 18,Speaking - 20
  Writing - 17
• PTE:56 overall  with minimum of 51 in each component
