About Computing - Application Software Development Bsc (hons) in Robert Gordon University

This application software development course is a two-year top-up programme which leads to an Honours degree for those with a relevant HND. It will extend your skills in software and systems development, advance skills in web and mobile development, and enhance your ability to develop sophisticated applications to change tomorrow’s world.

One of the major challenges facing industry and commerce today is maintaining and enhancing a competitive advantage. The merging of communication and information technologies is creating new opportunities for the development of application software that integrates mobile, tablet, PC, networking and an array of computing services into highly accessible enterprise scale systems. The course content covers the full range of software technologies which underpin these opportunities.

​​​Academic qualification equivalents

• The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to our Bachelor degree programmes.

An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A Level).

English language requirements (one of the below):

•  IELTS: 6.0 with minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test
• TOEFL iBT : 80  with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17,Reading - 18,Speaking - 20
  Writing - 17
• PTE:56 overall  with minimum of 51 in each component
