The modern media landscape is changing faster than any other industry.
It is adapting to new methods of communication, new markets and new technology. Navigating this world requires practical skills, experience, and confidence.
This programme will enable you to respond to changes in the 21st-century broadcast landscape. You will develop skills and technical expertise through hands-on activities, and also gain a thorough understanding of why they are important.
You will gain traditional skills in directing, producing, sound, lighting, camera, editing and production management.
You will explore a range of production and broadcast styles, allowing you to experience how techniques and approaches differ between feature films, short commercials, live news broadcasts, and more. You will also learn how to use digital media creatively to produce material and communicate ideas.
An optional term spent studying abroad can enable you to expand your learning outside the UK at a number of our partner institutions around the world.

Academic qualification equivalents

Direct Entry to 1st Year:
Year 12 Grade – cumulative score of 65% and above.
Advanced Entry to 2nd Year:
Year 12 Grade – cumulative score of 75% and above. Advanced entry is possible on a range of courses. Student applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS :Overall score of 6.0 with no score below 5.5 in any of the four components
- TOEFL IBT: Overall score 80. (We do not accept TOEFL from applicants requiring a Tier 4 visa, as this qualification is no longer accepted by the UK Visas and Immigration Department (UKVI)
- PTE: Overall score of 58, with 51 or above in each individual component
