Physics With Particle Physics With Year Abroad Msci (hons) in Queen Mary University of London, UK
Physics With Particle Physics With Year Abroad Msci (hons) in Queen Mary University of London
In the first year you’ll build a solid foundation in theoretical and experimental physics, with a focus on particle physics over the second and third years. You’ll grow your understanding of the fundamentals of the subatomic world, learning to apply quantum mechanics to describe the behaviour of particles. Contemporary topics include the search for the Higgs boson and new physics beyond the standard model.
Teaching on the programme benefits from the School’s involvement with some of the world’s largest particle physics experiments, including the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and the T2K neutrino facility in Japan.
You can also take optional modules reflecting the School’s full range of expertise across physics and astronomy – mix and match to suit your aims and interests.
You’ll develop practical skills in statistical data analysis, detector technology and programming that can be applied in commerce, industry or research.
In your final year, you’ll further develop your interests within particle physics through your independent research project, supervised by one of the School’s particle physicists.
