Astronomy And Astrophysics Pgcert in Queen Mary University of London

Our highly regarded PGCert is the ideal springboard into a career in astronomy: many of our students go on to our Astrophysics MSc and some continue further on to their PhDs.

The programme is notable for the breadth of what you’ll study. You’ll gain an excellent overview of the subject area, from exoplanets and stellar structure to galaxies and cosmology. We’ll also make sure you also stay up-to-date with recent developments in research.

You’ll join a thriving, friendly research community, with a busy schedule of research seminars, meetings and workshops (as well as regular social events), so you can make the most of the specialist research skills you’ll develop on this course.

This PGCert is taught in conjunction with our MSc in Astrophysics and forms a substantial part of the MSc’s first year. If you do sufficiently well on this course, you may be allowed to change over to part-time study of the MSc and enter the second year of that programme.
