About Software Engineering With Placement Beng in Queen's University Belfast
Software is a cornerstone of today's digital society, controlling everything from the cinema listings displayed when you use Google to posting a quick shot of your latte on Instagram.
Without software, the forms of communication, interaction and knowledge processing that we all take for granted today could not, and would not exist.
Software engineers are concerned with designing and developing software systems in a manner that is efficient, reliable and innovative. They must also understand the needs of those who will use the software and be able to create products that are intuitive, creative and responsive.
This degree programme is designed to equip you with the analytical, reasoning and practical skills they will need to design, develop and deploy large software systems. It blends the best knowledge and skills from both Software Engineering and Computer Science. You could find yourself working on a wide variety of projects, from industry disrupting apps to Internet connected devices, lifesaving smart medical implants to consumer space travel.
Employer experience is embedded into this course and allows students to engage and learn from prospective employers from day one. Industry placements, company sponsored hackathons and challenges are a core part of the curriculum and vastly improve our graduate’s employability rates.
