About Software And Electronic Systems Engineering in Queen's University Belfast
Much of modern life is made possible on devices and systems that leverage the interaction between software and electronics. The consistent refinement of these interactions has led to advances in both everyday systems, like games consoles and mobile phones, and specialised systems like surveillance, smart vehicles and medical devices.
SESE is one of the few research-led UK university departments that can offer a truly integrated degree and the only computing degree in Queen’s which includes the design of both computing hardware and software.
An SESE graduate could not only design the physical hardware of a mobile phone (electronic engineering) but could write the software to run it (software engineering).
Employer experience is embedded into this course and allows students to engage and learn from prospective employers from day one. Industry placements, company sponsored hackathons and challenges are a core part of the curriculum and vastly improve our graduate’s employability rates.
