About Product Design Engineering Meng in Queen's University Belfast
The main objective of this engineering degree is to produce graduates with a broad and balanced set of skills and attributes required for the design and manufacture of innovative technical products. It is a variant of the Mechanical Engineering degree, which after first year, focuses on design process methodology, materials manufacturing and analysis.
The integrated curriculum connects content from different modules through team-based and individual projects which act as a core activity each year.
Academic qualification equivalents
- The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to our Bachelor degree programmes.
An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A Level).
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS: 6.5 minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test
- TOEFL iBT : 90 with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17,Reading - 18,Speaking - 20,Writing - 17
- PTE: 62 overall with minimum of 51 in each component
