About Biomedical Science Bsc in Queen's University Belfast

Our Biomedical Science degree enables you to explore the sciences related to medicine and in particular, the specialist disciplines of diagnostic Biomedical Science as practised in Health Service Laboratories. Our degree is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science and is aimed at students wishing to pursue a career in diagnostic laboratory science as biomedical scientists within the NHS, research or management careers in the pharmaceutical industries or academic research.

Global Opportunities

• The School has established links with two universities in the USA - the University of Nevada in Reno and the University of Vermont, where several students are given the opportunity to work in their research laboratories for a year between second and final year.

• The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to our Bachelor degree programmes.

An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A Level).

English language requirements (one of the below):

•  IELTS: 6.5 minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test
• TOEFL iBT : 90 with minimum marks as follows:  Listening - 17,Reading - 18,Speaking - 20,Writing - 17
• PTE: 62 overall with minimum of 51 in each component
