Our MSc Sustainability, Technology and Innovation Management (STIM) is a pioneering course that brings together multi-disciplinary expertise from Manchester Metropolitan's Faculty of Business and Law and the Faculty of Science and Engineering, focusing on the nature, causes and consequences of innovation that benefits our economy, environment and society.
The challenges associated with sustainable development are complex and interconnected. This course is designed to bridge gaps in disciplines and skills, in response to the need for social sciences, engineers and the physical sciences to work together. Your learning journey on STIM will involve working individually and in interdisciplinary teams on key strategic and policy-related sustainability challenges, developing the skills necessary to help build a more sustainable future.
Advanced learning
This cross-faculty course offers research and practitioner-led teaching, delivered by a team working at the forefront of their respective fields in sustainability, innovation and technology management.
You will study core units in managing innovation dynamics, advanced entrepreneurship and strategy, sustainable development, and environmental management and policy. From there, you'll have the underpinning knowledge and skills to explore challenges related to energy transitions, the circular economy, conservation or transport systems transitions.
