- Accreditation - The Sport and Exercise Psychology pathway is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) as Stage 1 in the two stage training process requiring completion to become a Sport and Exercise Psychologist. All staff teaching the psychology pathway staff are BPS Chartered Psychologists with Practitioner Psychologists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Career prospects
This is a course designed to prepare you for a specialist future in sport and exercise, whether that means professional roles or continued studies. While many of our graduates pursue their PhD after achieving their masters, many others have gone into senior roles within education, from international professors to Physical Education teachers to senior managers.
Many of the pathways can also lead to specialist coaching positions – helping you apply your expertise as a senior or academy level coaches, coach educator or performance analyst (to name a few), within community sport development. It’s also a qualification that can take you far within healthcare, whether working in rehabilitation, health promotion or as a physiologist with the NHS or private provider.
