Overview
Nursing is a demanding, yet rewarding profession. Our undergraduate courses have been designed, developed and are delivered to recognise the core values of the NHS and the required standards of our accrediting body the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
We are one of the largest university trainers of Nursing and Health Professionals in the north west of England and are very proud of our strong associations and partnerships with the local NHS trusts and other stakeholders.
This course is designed to lead to careers in Health Visiting or School Nursing. Applicants must be a first level nurse or midwife with a current or pending registration on the NMC Professional register and must have a supported practice placement. All aspects of the course focus on the development of skills, knowledge and attributes required for the SCPHN role. There is a focus on public health, community development, health needs assessment and health inequalities.
The course builds on the core values of the NHS constitution and is approved by the NMC to offer students the opportunity to gain a specialist practitioner qualification in School Nursing and Health Visiting qualifications.
