About Pharmacy With Integrated Training Year - Mpharm (only Available To International Students) in Keele University
Pharmacists play a key role in many aspects of the design, development, delivery, and optimisation of the use of medicines. They’re clinicians and scientists, with strong management and communication skills. These skills ensure that pharmacists are highly effective in community pharmacy, hospitals, GP surgeries, the pharmaceutical industry, academia, regulatory affairs and public health.
Pharmacists promote the safe and effective use of medicines and ensure quality patient care. Often, they are the first point of information for the public and other healthcare professionals, and as such must be effective communicators.
All aspects of the Pharmacy programme are taught in dedicated, well-equipped facilities using a combination of teaching methods. Placements form an important learning experience throughout all years of the course giving you the opportunity to place your learning in context within different working environments.
The 5 year MPharm (with Integrated Training Year) shares the same core topics of the four year MPharm course. The fourth year is split across years four to five, to provide opportunity for the Integrated Training Year.
Keele has excellent links with the local health service; dedicated teaching facilities; modern, well-equipped laboratories and analytical facilities; an enthusiastic, multidisciplinary teaching team; and a stimulating research environment. This course has been designed specifically for overseas students, integrating the pre-registration year into years 4 and 5 of the MPharm programme.
