About Music Production And Psychology - Bsc (hons) in Keele University
Music Production and Psychology aims to give you a portfolio of skills so you can achieve your career ambitions in the music industry or in creative industries like TV, radio, film and games. Taught by experienced staff with a range of specialisms, there will be opportunities to work individually and collaboratively and to deliver inspiring projects under the guidance of supportive tutors.
In Music Production you will develop knowledge in sound recording, audio design, digital sampling, programming, mixing, mastering and producing sound. You will also examine the cultural contexts in which sound is produced for and consumed in various media.
The psychology component of the course leads to a degree that is accedited by the British Psychological Society, exploring why humans think, feel, communicate and act in the ways that they do. You will work alongside academic staff on research projects from brain electrophysiology to studies on alcohol, and from conflict resolution and forgiveness to how young people respond to advertising. You will learn to apply psychology in situations ranging from negotiating personal relationships to influencing judgments about matters of global significance such as climate change.
Please note that there was unfortunately an error in the printed version of the UG Prospectus 2022 that stated Psychology needed to be chosen as a specialism in the final year for accreditation to be received - this is not the case, anyone studying a CH Psychology course at Keele will receive BPS accreditation.
