About Mathematics And Psychology - Bsc (hons) in Keele University
On this course you will explore the beauty, elegance and practicality of pure mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. You will learn how to apply maths for a range of purposes which may include developing precise and logical arguments, constructing rigorous proofs, and formulating solutions to new problems. You will study in an intellectually stimulating environment amongst other mathematicians.
The programme covers core material as well as allowing you explore a range of specialisms which might include pure or applied mathematics, or probability and modelling, which are particularly relevant to psychology. The programme makes the transition from A Level to university Mathematics as smooth as possible with a carefully designed first year curriculum and multi-layered student support structure.
The Psychology content of this course challenges you with exciting ideas and findings from across the Psychology curriculum including social and developmental psychology, cognitive and biological psychology and research methods. In your final year you will carry out a psychology research project on a topic of your own choice, under expert guidance, a supportive environment and fantastic lab facilities.
