About Bsc (hons) Chemistry With Materials in Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh
This course is attractive to students with an interest in both chemistry and physics and their engineering applications. The development of new materials with special properties requires students to combine their newly-learned knowledge of polymers and solid state materials with core chemistry. Microelectronics, communications, aerospace and other high-tech industries are dependent upon the chemist to develop and manufacture novel engineering materials.
The MChem version of this degree is MChem Chemistry with Materials and Nanoscience and involves an extensive 24-week research project in the area of Materials Chemistry or Nanoscience, as well as allows students to choose between various specialist option courses.
